Hosted by LUCKY 57, from Providence: Grounded in post-punk, but with a love of pop and a soft-spot for traditional country music, Lucky 57 draws on both genres for a sound that's guitar-driven, melodic, and rootsy--so aptly proven on the band's debut CD(Looseground Records, 2001), a 9-song collection of twang-tinged pop produced with Boston rock icon (David Minehan , Paul Westerberg, Aerosmith) and Carl Plaster (Old 97s, The Ramones) -- as a band that navigates the fine line between rock and twang with hooky, guitar-laden melodies and memorable, well-executed songs. http://www.lucky57.com/

Swedish band SHOOTING JOHN balances on the verge between americana and indie flavored folk and pop. Reflecting the dark, melancholic voice and lyrics of singer Peder Gravlund, they favour the mellowness of the minor keys, yet allowing a hint of hope and joy to shine through. Their 2005 release, MOODSWINGS, brought great critical response, tv- and radio appearances as well as tour dates in Germany, England and Sweden. Coming up is a solo tour on the U.S. east coast in October, as well as dates in Germany in Sweden during the fall and winter of 2007/08. Their recently recorded second album, Happiness +/-, is released September 7th. http://www.myspace.com/shootingjohnsolo

THALIA ZEDEK is one of the most important and talented vocalists in American rock. Over her 20+ year career as singer and guitarist with bands like Come, Live Skull, Uzi, and others, she has brought an unparalleled intensity and emotion to underground music, a talent on par with Nick Cave or Patti Smith. She’s been deeply influential and fiercely revered. http://www.thrilljockey.com/artists/?id=10045

THE WINSOME GRIFFLES, Larry-bob, Jack, and Brad, play a spirited mix of southern/Americana/rural tunes from the Great American Songbook, plus sassy queer originals on piano, bass, banjo and drums with harmony vocals. Both clever and sincere, the Griffles give a twist on American traditional music. Their debut CD, "Meet The Griffles" is being released this fall. http://www.myspace.com/winsomegriffles
