Family Program with Loree Griffin Burns

SATURDAY, JUNE 16, 11:00 AM

Join scientist and author Loree Griffin Burns for an introduction to the fascinating world of citizen science, which promotes the goal of "science for everyone, everywhere." From tallying beach debris (International Coastal Cleanup) and monitoring native bee populations (Great Sunflower Project) to tagging monarch butterflies (Monarch Watch) and hunting ladybugs (Lost Ladybug Project), Burns has practiced citizen science in her own backyard, coordinated events in her community, observed events from Central Park to central Mexico, and has now written about these experiences in her new book for young readers, Citizen Scientists. Prepare to be inspired!

Regular admission rates apply. Free for members.
