Young Galaxy / Winter Gloves / The Single Helix March 25, 2011

Last month saw the release of YOUNG GALAXY's third LP, Shapeshifiting, out via Paperbag Records. After the epic rock of their Poliaris Music Prize 'Long Listed' Invisible Republic, YOUNG GALAXY worked on this new effort with producer DAN LISSVIK, half of the acclaimed Swedish duo STUDIO, to create an entirely new sonic identity, one they describe as "sexy, spacious, haunted by ghosts in silver, black and primary colours." After spending much of 2010 on the road with ARCADE FIRE, STARS and TWIN SHADOW, we're very excited to welcome the arty Montrealers back to the Bottle. On tour with YOUNG GALAXY are label and city-mates WINTER GLOVE, supporting their newest EP, Heart Out, a poppy mix of gritty bass, synth sounds and guest vocals from BORN RUFFIANS' LUKE LALONDE. Local sound manipulator THE SINGLE HELIX returns to the Bottle with the gloriously offkilter tracks from last years' Journal of an Emotional Robot.
