Jan T. Gross, will speak about the central question of and Polish reaction to his newest book, Fear: Anti-Semitism in Poland After Auschwitz -- How, after World War II with over 90% of Polish Jewry killed in the Holocaust, a pogrom and anti-Semitism was possible in Kielce, Poland? Gross is also the author of the 2001 National Book Award nominee, Neighbors: The Destruction of the Jewish Community in Jedwabne, Poland . A discussion of the topic will follow with Deborah Lipstadt and the audience.
