There is a rich history of visual artists who work with music and musicians who are also artists. In the last five years, this interdisciplinary approach has exploded and the contemporary art scene has consistently seen artists who are able to use both mediums to produce dynamic new work. Why is this happening now? What does it mean for museums and symphony halls? How has technology influenced this approach? Exploring the answers to these questions will be Steve Roden, artist and musician, Alissa Anderson, musician and artist, Ed Patuto, Co-Director of Volume Projects and moderated by Kate Eilertsen, Acting Director Visual Arts at YBCA.
