The event was created in 2010, with its inaugural event taking place on February 21, 2010, replacing No Way Out. Elimination Chamber is a pay-per-view (PPV) event consisting of a main event and undercard that features championship matches and other various matches. The concept of the show is that the two main event matches (usually one from the Raw brand and one from the SmackDown brand) are contested inside the Elimination Chamber; one of these matches typically features the WWE Championship being defended, while the other is usually contested for the World Heavyweight Championship

The Road to WrestleMania continues with an extremely strong Elimination Chamber card. It's highlighted by The Rock's first defense of the WWE Championship since returning in a Royal Rumble rematch with CM Punk.It's far from the only intriguing match on tap. Alberto Del Rio and Big Show will continue their feud with another title match. There's an Elimination Chamber match for a shot at the World Heavyweight title, and The Shield will take on John Cena, Ryback and Sheamus.

That's a stacked card, especially for what's normally a second-tier PPV. When you factor in that multiple superstars who could join the fray before WrestleMania, including Brock Lesnar and Undertaker, it illustrates there should be a lot of entertaining shows on the horizon.

It has only been a couple weeks since Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow went their separate ways, but nothing good has come of it for either man. With Team Rhodes Scholars reforming to face Brodus Clay and Tensai on the Elimination Chamber pre-show, it should lead to an official reprisal of the partnership between Rhodes and Sandow.I have high hopes for both Rhodes and Sandow as singles competitors and believe that they both have what it takes to be world champion down the line, but there is no point in keeping them apart currently when they stand to benefit much more from a dominant run in the tag-team division.Team Rhodes Scholars served as Team Hell No's primary rival for a few months, and although Rhodes and Sandow did score some victories over Kane and Daniel Bryan, they were never able to capture the Tag Team Championships. It seemed as though they were on the verge of doing so at the Royal Rumble, however, Team Hell No was able to foil their plans yet again.
