The Old Town School of Folk Music attempts to break the Guinness World Record for the "Largest Music Lesson" by offering a free, public guitar lesson in the Welles Park Gazebo. Guitar players of all levels are welcome to participate, but must bring their own instruments. The school has set a goal of 2,000 participants for this record-breaking event. The current record was set on May 12, 2006, and included 539 participants being taught to play the harmonica by Roland van Staaten at Camlog Biotechnologies Congress in Montreux, Switzerland.
