The San Francisco Vegetarian Society presents its 12th annual award-winning WORLD VEG FESTIVAL, commemorating World Vegetarian Day. This event is a celebration and open to the general public.

This two-day Award Winning Festival celebrates its 12th year with an action packed weekend of very informative lectures by the movers and shakers of the vegetarian movement plus creative vegan cooking demos; international cuisine to sample or buy; vegan friendly merchandise; a Children's Corner; Veggie Speed Dating; and a variety of world entertainers. Some of the outstanding speakers are John & Ocean Robbins, Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Dr. Don Forrester, Dr. Michael Greger, Lee Hall, Erica Meier, Dr. Richard Oppenlander, Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, & more! Cooking demonstrations featuring international vegetarian cuisine, food samples, education, exhibits on health, humane and environmental topics, and entertainment will be part of the weekend's activities.

"You do not have to be a vegetarian to come", says SFVS President Dixie Mahy. "We want everyone to come and try our delicious food, learn about vegetarianism and have a good time."

Founded in 1968, SFVS is a non-profit, volunteer and community-based organization that promotes the nutritional, ethical, social and environmental benefits of a vegetarian diet. Tel 415-273-5481. www.sfvs.org
