Daniel Roth, Professor of Organ at Frankfurt am Main and organist at Saint-Sulpice in Paris, will perform in the “Great Organ: Great Artists” concert series at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine on Tuesday, April 27, at 7:30PM.

The “Great Organ: Great Artists” concert series consists of six performances by some of the most celebrated organists in the world including: Daniel Roth, Gerre Hancock, Olivier Latry, Marilyn Keiser, Thierry Escaich and Peter Conte. The featured organists were chosen as individuals who represent a range of world organ performance traditions and are expected to exercise their own individual style of organ playing, utilizing the distinctive features of the Great Organ.

The Great Organ – originally built by renowned American organ builder Ernest Skinner in 1910 and later expanded by the Aeolian-Skinner Organ Company in the 1950s – is a unique instrument, custom built with more than 1,800 pipes and 100 speaking stops, and was designed to take advantage of the dramatic acoustics of the world’s largest Gothic Cathedral.
