On Saturday, April 10th, 2010 (doors 7:30, show 8pm), The Art House Gallery presents World famous, The most original combination of popular songwriting and rock music since Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead, The Beatles, Stones and Who.

World Famous plays the best original popular music that you've never heard before. Having traveled the world bringing back musical riches from every part of western popular music culture, Chuck Steed and Christopher Peterson deliver a great performance.

The mighty Chuck Steed, bandleader, songwriter and rhythm guitar player, is a veteran Bay Area musician, having appeared and played in Little Kids, Mystery Men, In Da House, Jazz Mouth, Pipes or solo.  In a 1996 competition Chuck's song Polar Bear was voted Best Song by by the Northern California Songwriters Association (NCSA held at the now closed Sweetwater in Marin).  Chuck has built a singing voice on the shoulders of Joe Cocker (Mad Dogs and Englishmen), Brownie McGee, Clifton Chenier, Peter Gabriel.

Christopher Peterson, Bass guitar/backing vocals/artistic director. Christopher, already a famous illustrator, began to create rock posters for the Fillmore, among many other bands, venues and music-related clients. His many musical influences include the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, CSNY and the Grateful Dead. His rock n' roll career made its debut in 1990 as the bandleader/lead guitarist in the Chris Peterson Experiment.

Steed and Peterson are joined by Mandolinist-guitarist Pat Fahey, and Robert Bean on drums.

For more than 40 years, blues guitarist and songmaker Marc Silber has been known as a "musician's musician" by an elite circle of players. Originally from Michigan, Marc hit the road in 1960 for Berkeley, eventually ending up in New York City in 1963 just as the burgeoning folk revival was hitting stride. There he founded and ran Fretted Instruments, the legendary Greenwich Village music store. Before it closed in 1967, a typical day might find folks like Mississippi John hurt, Reverend Gary Davis, Bob Dylan, John Sebastian, Maria Muldaur, Elizabeth Cotten, David Grisman, and Mance Lipscomb hanging out and jamming, and Marc was right in the middle of it with his guitar. Through the years, he has continued to play his own deep-rooted music, making new songs and rewriting old ones, teaching blues guitar, and collecting, building and repairing musical instruments. It's about time the rest of the world gets to hear this wonderful musician. – Suzy Thompson
If you're coming to sit down and hear some quiet depressing folk music, don't bother. World Famous shows are always a positive, enjoyable experience. You will sing, you will dance, get riled up and involved. Come on out and enjoy the fun.
