Wonderful Town is a delicious and delightful romp through 1930s-era Greenwich Village. Based on Fields and Chodorov's 1940 play My Sister Eileen, the musical follows the story of two sisters who have left their hometown of Columbus, Ohio, and are trying to make it on their own in New York. Ruth, a shy and intelligent aspiring writer, faces the man's world of publishing and finds all doors closed to her. Eileen, on the other hand, is an outgoing, attractive actress who uses her feminine wiles to get what she wants. Both struggle to find themselves - and, ultimately, love - in this wildly entertaining, feel-good musical comedy for all ages.
