The title of this session is, 'Self, Identity and Consciousness in the Torah: The Commentary of Dr. Aviva Gottlieb Zornberg'. Adding her voice to generations of master teachers and scholars of Torah, Aviva Gottlieb Zornberg plumbs the layers of biblical narratives for their insights into human nature and consciousness. Combining literary analysis with psychoanalytic thought as well as rabbinic and Hassidic teachings, Zornberg uncovers the richness of the Bible and the interplay between self, family, community and God.
