A celebration of “Women’s History Month” will take place onboard the USS Hornet Museum on Saturday, March 17 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Visitors can learn about the changing roles of women in the military while exploring the historic aircraft carrier, participating in pilot briefings, and witnessing aircraft being lifted to the flight deck.
Simulations are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

A panel of women pilots, space technicians, and military veterans will give a special presentation at 1 p.m.

For those who want a more in-depth look at an aircraft carrier, a Flashlight Tour begins at 8:30 a.m. The tour includes areas not open to the public such as Captain’s and Admiral’s Quarters, Message Center, Brig, and Catapult Machinery Room. Cost for this special guided tour is $35 per person and includes all-day admission.

Museum admission is $14 for adults and $6 for kids (5-17).
