Host: Progress & Freedom Foundation. The wireless sector has been identified as a key component of increased broadband deployment and penetration, consistent with the goals of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. At the same time, the wireless service sector, which has thrived under a “light touch” regulatory framework, is under increasing scrutiny from antitrust and regulatory officials. Yet, the view from the capital markets is quite the opposite: that there may be too much competition. Would increased regulation of wireless markets be necessary or counter-productive? Is the answer more regulation, more competition, both or neither? These and other policy issues will be analyzed and discussed at our congressional seminar hosted by The Progress & Freedom Foundation. Specific speakers will be announced in upcoming weeks. Lunch will be served.
