Winter Lecture Series: PA Seasonal Pools Registry February 10, 2007

Seasonal pools are isolated, temporary ponds that provide important habitat for wetland plant species and a distinctive assemblage of amphibians and invertebrates that are adapted to life in a changing environment. This presentation will describe the Pennsylvania Seasonal Pools Registry, a citizen-based program to document the locations of seasonal pools statewide and gather preliminary biological data on them. Learn about the ecology of these ephemeral ponds and how you can join with other citizens to register and inventory seasonal pools in the region.
