Alt-Country, Rock & Blues

12:30 - 1:30 pm
NQ Arbuckle
NQ Arbuckle is the "origin" in "original," heeding tradition but remaining true to his story. He's one of the greatest balladeers of our time, backed by some of Canada's finest musicians. Every song NQ writes reincarnates itself in every delivery.

2 - 3 pm
Jill Barber
Drawing on influences from old-time jazz standards, bluegrassy-folk and hook-laden pop, Barber is a songwriter with dead-on phrasing, an impressive range and a knack for squeezing genuine emotion out of a cozy alto purr.

3:30 - 4:30 pm
Jon-Rae and the River
This alt-country, gospel-soul, rock-explosion orchestra delivers a rollicking live act with a soulful collection of songs led by an old fashion singer/songwriter who grew up singing in a church.

5 - 6 pm
Elliott Brood
Elliott Brood plays dark, gritty folk and howling bluegrass music built around vocals and lyrics evoking images of love, loss and murder. In their soul-thumping songs, banjo keeps time to a strange and chunky angular stomp, with Kentucky-hardcore acoustic guitar and sombre, achingly confessional vocal harmonies.
