June 13 – Wild Foods Seminar and Dinner with Author Herbalist Patricia Kyritsi Howell
Beechwood Inn Executive Chef David Darugh in conjunction with Author and Herbalist Patricia Kyritsi Howell of BotanoLogos School for Herbal Studies, offer guests the opportunity to forage for dinner. Ms. Howell is a registered herbalist and the author of "Medicinal Plants of the Southern Appalachians." She teaches classes in herbal medicines and wild edibles. She also instructs at Emory University. The Beechwood Inn features Northeast Georgia's only Wine Spectator Award of Excellence restaurant and offers regional and California- Mediterranean dinners featuring fresh and local Georgia products.
David Darugh, the Inn's Executive Chef offers culinary classes that give guests the opportunity to visit local gardens, orchards and vineyards to "pick" their own fresh and local dinner. In collaboration with Ms. Howell, more adventurous guests can now schedule a culinary class that will permit them to "forage" for their dinner. Classes are scheduled to coincide with nature’s seasonal generosity.
