Mastering Follow-Through – how to trick, coax, persuade and support yourself to reach the goals you set

Many of us resolve to become more organized, productive and successful. Our intellect makes plans to do more marketing, always arrive on time, keep our desk orderly, eat more fiber and fewer cookies, empty the email inbox. But as weeks, months and years go by, these resolutions remain unfulfilled. What’s happening to our good intentions? Are we just weak-willed wimps? Is there any way to improve our follow-through?

It turns out that our intellect isn’t always in charge of what we do and don’t do. Humans lack some essential mental “wiring” that would create flawless follow-through. We have to devise some work-arounds to help us reach our chosen goals.

Organizing expert Margaret Lukens will help us explore the forces that undermine our ability to carry out intentions and discover a variety of strategies to overcome those limitations.

Margaret Lukens founded New Leaf + Company LLC, because she loves helping business owners and professionals create simple and effective solutions, clear plans, and room to grow. Through her GO System ® program, she is able to help her clients get the organization and productivity to boost them toward their highest goals. Some of Margaret’s articles on productivity topics are available on her blog at http://newleafnews.wordpress.com/

Margaret is the president of the San Francisco chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers, and a Certified Professional Organizer®. She is also a member of the International Coach Federation.
She is passionate about supporting charities dedicated to wealth creation in developing countries, women’s welfare, and improved access to education.
