In conjunction with the First Friday Ramble on October 3, 2008, Branigan Cultural Center will be site of a program titled Where the Wild Things Are: Nearby Natural Lands. At the invitation of Virginia Maria Romero, whose solo exhibition opens the same night, Nathan Small representing the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance will talk about Natural Lands near the Las Cruces area. The program will be presented in the Shannon Gallery at 6:00 p.m.

Nathan Small is a native New Mexican and has long been involved with the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance. Small helped begin Wilderness Walks, leading local residents into nearby natural public lands.

Romeros exhibit Black/White & Beyond opens October 3 and runs through November 1, 2008. She also has work on display in the Three Dreamers exhibit in the Shannon Gallery. Three Dreamers exhibit will remain on display through Saturday, October 25th.

The Branigan Cultural Center, 501 N. Main Street, is located at the north end of the downtown mall in Las Cruces. The program and exhibits are free.
