Hang Man Gallery presents brilliant abstract mixed media landscape paintings in Toronto artist Maggie Dozwell’s latest exhibition “What I learned last week”, September 2 – September 21, 2008. Maggie states: “I enjoy representing nature in my individual style. I use the earth's elements such as metals, stones, and organic material to incorporate depth and texture. I like to allow the paint to flow freely so that the painting evolves.

In my landscapes I use an abstract approach to arrive at a feeling of the place I am wanting to depict. My effort is focused toward providing the viewer with my vision of the space. I want viewers to feel the same mood that the painting is meant to inspire. Raw edges and energy are present in some of my landscapes and some have soft feathery edges. To me this demonstrates the dynamic nature of our worldly landscape.”
