The annual World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS) International Acupuncture Conference is the major global academic conference for the profession and the second time takes place in the U.S. in 23 years. As the only professional acupuncture organization affiliated with WHO, WFAS consists of 126 member societies, covering 50 countries and regions from around the world. The international acupuncture conference had been held in China, Norway, Spain, Turkey, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and other countries and was held twice in France, Italy and South Korea.

The theme of the 2010 Conference is Acupuncture Research, Education and Clinical Practice. As the pivotal acupuncture conference in the U.S. officials from WHO and NIH will be present as speakers and take parts in the program venues on academic and research exchanges with experts and scholars from around the world on November 6-7.
