On November 15, 2012, Westfield Valley Fair will unveil its extraordinary new Holiday Installation to the public during a “Magical Moments” event, with a ceremonial ribbon cutting marking the official opening of the shopping center’s festive mise-en-scène and nearly unimaginable Santa set. The new holiday décor embraces cherished holiday traditions while introducing cutting-edge digital innovations and interactive consumer experiences designed to appeal to Silicon Valley’s sophisticated tech palate.

Throughout the evening, adults and children can enjoy seasonal treats and refreshments while viewing exclusive, vignette performances from Ballet San Jose’s The Nutcracker. True to form, Santa is set to make a grand entrance, behind the wheel of a red Mini Cooper convertible along with Clara and the Nutcracker himself.

New this year and beginning on November 15, Westfield Valley Fair is implementing a new Santa Photos FastPass program, allowing customers to purchase their photo packages in advance to receive access to a special FastPass line when they arrive and show their receipt. Parents can also clue in Santa’s helpers to their child’s name and gift of choice, which is then “magically” relayed to Santa as the child approaches.

While waiting in line to visit Santa, shoppers can explore giant walk-through ornaments and Christmas trees built for both adult and child proportions, featuring embedded touch screens that allow children to decorate a Christmas tree, create and send custom holiday e-cards to friends and family, and explore other holiday items on the screen to reveal unique surprises. The first 200 children in line to visit with Santa on November 15th will be awarded a free gift.

On November 15, Westfield Valley Fair will also commence voting for the Festival of Trees, a unique charitable program that will bring together a collection of local nonprofit organizations. Each organization is tasked with selecting a theme and decorating its own Christmas tree for display within the Center. Shoppers will be invited to vote for their favorite tree, with Westfield Valley Fair making a donation to the organization with the greatest number of votes.
