Formed by Seattle art scene veterans Sarah Rudinoff and Gretta Harley, We Are Golden mixes rock and blues rhythms, classical instruments creating melodic, full spaces in the music and a dash of Weimar Republic cabaret attitude- giving them a unique sound. The music is distinguished by a lush piano that goes from rock percussion to classical melodies, powerful vocals, virtuosic cello playing- (cello wunderkind Joshua Roman, the Seattle Symphony's youngest principal player creates tongue and cheek Hendrix on his 400 year old cello as well as sweeping emotional melodies), lyrical guitars, eastern influenced clarinet parts, and a rhythm section willing to take risks as well as hold tight.
