We are proud to announce the debut evening of a new literary series presented by Waking Dream Press. The series, held about every other month, will take place in our showroom and will include 3 to 4 authors reading excerpts from their short stories, essays, novels, poetry etc. It will be hosted by WDP’s award winning, and hilarious author/comedian/publisher Erica Ferencik so there will never be a dull moment.
The debut event will explore journeys: everything from trying to find a bathroom in Athens, looking for a lost love in Rome, to freeing oneself from the past with a midlife dragon tattoo. Join us for a myriad of journeys with four fascinating writers:
Sandra A. Miller is an author whose work has appeared in more than a hundred print and online publications, including glossy women's magazines, major metropolitan newspapers, and obscure literary journals. Recently Trudie Styler, Sting's wife, turned one of her personal essays into a short Hollywood film called Wait, produced by Glamour magazine.
Linda Werbner is a zaftig bohemian babe who, when she isn’t busy doing social work, loves to play the banjo, eat donuts, and write and draw her comic Jewfro!
Julie Nardone is a freelance writer and challenger of assumptions from Ashland, Massachusetts. Her essays, stories and op-ed pieces have been published in The Christian Science Monitor, NPR via WGBH radio, The Boston Globe, Skirt Magazine, Underwired Magazine, and The Metrowest Daily News.
Valerie Spain, a Massachusetts writer and visual artist, has authored Meet Hillary Clinton & Meet Maya Angelou in the Random House Bullseye Biographies for Young Readers series. Everybody's Business (formerly The Daughter in Law) was published in Heat City & Short will appear in Rag Mag. Her visual works have been shown in and around the Boston area including the Danforth Museum
