Removing invasive shrubs from the edge of this fen will allow the native grasses and wildflowers to thrive. This winter we want to make a big push to get rid of a lot of glossy buckthorn, an aggressive wetland invader. We hope to control outlier buckthorn in the open areas as well as cut larger patches that surround the perimeter of the lake. Meet at the entrance to Murray Lake Campground on Bauer Road, between Cunningham Lake and Bishop Lake Roads. ***Waterproof boots, either knee-high rubber boots or hip waders, are recommended for this site.
