Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work with animals or educate the public on exhibits? Now’s your chance! Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration is offering a variety of volunteer opportunities. Learn about ways you can make a difference during the Volunteer Open House on Wednesday, March 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The open house includes an overview presentation on the aquarium and its mission, a behind-the-scenes look at the Fish & Invertebrates Department and on-site interviews for those interested in volunteering. Volunteer opportunities currently exist in Guest and Member Services, Animal Rescue Program, the docent program and animal care.

Whether you want to try something new, are passionate about protecting our environment or simply want to make new friends, volunteering can help you achieve your goals and have fun while doing it. Other benefits of volunteering include free admission to the aquarium, continuing education and training, guest passes for friends and family and discounts on programs and in the Penguins Café and gift shop.
