For the 10th year of Vodka Latka, we’ll turn the Festival of Lights into the Festival of Rights with a unique menorah-lighting by local social justice activists, during which they’ll share a “right” they fight for. Past lightings have included Los Angeles City Council President, Eric Garcetti, Edina Lekovic from the Muslim Public Affairs Council, Reverend Ed Bacon of All Saint’s Church in Pasadena, Ramona Ripston of the ACLU-SC, and Daniel Sokatch, Executive Director of the Progressive Jewish Alliance.

Eastern European folk-punk auteurs Golem (named after the legendary Jewish Frankenstein of Prague) will then take the stage with a live performance reputed to whip crowds into a singing, dancing frenzy. Golem’s racked up early raves for their electrifying sophomore LP Fresh Off Boat (released August 22nd on JDub Records), a motley, multi-lingual brew of Jewish, Slavic, and Gypsy music played with the abandon of a New York punk band. “The group’s sultry bounce practically insists that you dance along” -Time Out NY

Heaping Portions, or for this special occasion, Heaping Hanukkah, will take Hanukkah’s tale and spin it through the minds of today's coolest comedians, writers, magicians and performers—interpreting pieces with wit, quirk, and depth, for your holiday pleasure. The presentation will be hosted by Jessica Chaffin and Jamie Denbo’s Ronna and Bev featuring Jill Soloway (Exec. Producer/Writer Six Feet Under) and other special guests.

Throughout the night, revelers will have the opportunity to get in on some high stakes charity dredyl.

If you don't have a tree, you don't have an excuse!
