"VIVA EL MARIACHI" Benefit Concert for El Sereno Mariachi Program June 11, 2010

The “VIVA EL MARIACHI” concert will feature a lively show of traditional Mexican song and dance; as well as a special presentation by El Sereno Middle School’s very own “Mariachi Los Jaguares.”

The night will feature the talents of Mariachi Alumni “Los Arrieros”, Conjunto Jarocho Xi, Plaza de La Raza Folklorico, and Folklor Pasión Mexicana.

The mission of the Mariachi program is to foster cultural pride and awareness among students and the community. The El Sereno Mariachi Program is an extension of the El Sereno Middle School music program and was recently re-introduced by music teacher Mr. Irineo Yanez. The program is supported by school Principal Mr. Art Duardo. Students in the Mariachi program must meet certain grade requirements and attendance in order to participate in the program.

The event is open to the public ticket prices are as follows:
