Use Vista and you will run into an elevation prompt asking you to "Allow/Cancel" something. What are these prompts and why did Microsoft create them? How do you keep your existing code running? We'll answer these questions and dig into code. After the talk, you will be familiar with UAC, integrity levels, file and registry virtualizations, manifests, and user brokers.

About the Presenter: Jean-Luc started writing Windows applications with Windows 3.0. He has built embedded NT messageware, compilers, expert systems, and more recently, spent a year making applications work and install on Vista. Jean-Luc currently works for Google.

We'll be rafflling off some cool stuff (including a copy of Vista). You must be a member and present to win.
