Vista Del Mar Jazzfest October 18, 2009

Enjoy an afternoon of amazing musical entertainment headlined by Grammy-nominated percussionist and singer Sheila E. with special guest Dave Koz, while at the same time helping children in need. The Oct. 18 event, which begins at 1 p.m., is a fundraiser for Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, one of the nation's most comprehensive care facilities for youngsters experiencing mental health problems, behavioral problems, emotional problems, or social problems. Sheila E. will be joined by the legendary E. family, including her father, Latin jazz great Pete Escovedo. This fall jazz festival, which will be held at Vista Del Mar's West Los Angeles campus, also will feature: multi-Grammy nominated recording artist and musical director Patrice Rushen; jazz-funk drummer Leon (Ndugu) Chancler; and actress and singer Sylvia Brooks.
