Visiting Filmmaker: Hong Sang-soo February 16, 2006

This double feature not only spotlights the gorgeously shot black and white Virgin Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors, but also gives Columbus fans the chance to view the advanced screening of Hong Sang-soo's first U.S. released film, Woman Is the Future of Man.

Serving as something of an epilogue to the director's prior films, Woman Is the Future of Man follows two reacquainted friends (slightly older but hardly wiser than Hong's usual protagonists) who decide to revisit the places and the woman they both loved years ago. (88 mins.) Virgin Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors dissects a courtship by offering the conflicting perspectives of each of the participants, creating brilliantly ambiguous character studies in the process.
