In A Billion Bootstraps, co-author Eric Thurman, one of the world’s leading experts on microcredit, unearths the roots of the microcredit revolution that is giving hope to billions of people across the globe. He explores how small loans – often as little as $25 – arranged by institutions known as “barefoot bankers” can provide the means for impoverished people to start small businesses, support their families, and improve local economies. Thurman speaks to the many reasons that microcredit is an exciting philanthropic choice of the 21st century.
