Woody Allen continues his longtime exploration of the complexities of love and sex in this lively romantic comedy. Two young American women, Vicky and Cristina (Scarlett Johansson) spend a summer holiday in Spain. They are best friends, yet they hold very different attitudes towards relationships and love. In Barcelona, they meet a handsome and charismatic artist (Javier Bardem) who openly wants to sleep with both of them. However, all bets are off when his beautiful, tempestuous ex-wife (Penelope Cruz) crashes this playful love triangle. It is not long before all four are drawn into a series of unconventional romantic entanglements with results both hilarious and harrowing.
