November 9
The Republik
Honolulu, HI

BAMP Project and G Spot present Vibesquad's American bass music culture live at The Republik, Hawaii’s newest concert venue on Friday, November 9, 2012. Tickets on sale now at locations listed below.

Before taking the stage as Vibesquad, he was known as Aaron Holstein from Colorado. Prior to his DJ career, Holstein was touring with the Chicago band Boogie Shoes, also studying jazz guitar. He is a musician and producer, who made a career from dropping sick beats and tearing bass lines since 2006, long before America craved for all things dubstep. His musical heritage contributes to his thorough understanding of musicianship and live performances in the electric dance music scene. While heavily influenced by the sounds of heavy beats, Vibesquad has a sound all his own breaking into other genres of music.

He toured all over the country, sharing the stage with other DJs including Bassnectar, Love & Light, Emancipator and more. Though primarily releasing music under his own label, Vibesquad Recordings, he also worked with well known labels like Additech and Simplify Recordings. Recently Vibesquad was hand selected exclusively for Bassnectar’s 2012 Vava Voom Spring Tour, for his unpredictable custom and ultra heavy grooves for the dance floor. He fuses electronic dance music with hip hop and funk, creating a new type of dubstep best described as American bass music. The music is fully original right down to the lyrics, including his biggest hits “Bass Travel”, “Flipping Acrobats”, “Shine”, “This Afternoon”, and “The Fireman”. In April of this year, he dropped his latest album Orphan Alien Part 2 and the single “Heatsink” in August.
