On Saturday, November 19, 2011, Variety will celebrate and honor comedian Amy Poehler with 'Variety's "Power of Comedy Award" during the 2nd Annual Variety's Power of Comedy Event.

The Power of Comedy event will again benefit the Noreen Fraser Foundation (NFF), an organization focused on funding women's cancer research and raising awareness of the importance of early detection for the prevention of women's cancer. Using humor is cornerstone to the mission of NFF, as humor serves to break the ice on important subjects that can be uncomfortable to discuss and reminds us of the healing power of laughter.
