Open Source Cluster Application Resources (OSCAR) is a snapshot of best known methods for building, using and managing a Linux cluster. It consists of a fully integrated and easy to install software bundle designed for high performance cluster computing which makes it very easy for anybody to build their own cluster. OSCAR is a collaborative effort between developers from the industry as well as research/academia. OSCAR supports most popular Linux distributions like Red Hat, Fedora, SUSE and Mandriva. The strength of OSCAR is its flexible and modular design making it very straightforward to install, yet easily customizable. The talk will start with an introduction of OSCAR, followed by a discussion on new features to be released with the upcoming 5.0 release -- there might even be a demo!
