Valentine's Day Dinner February 12, 2011

Treat your Valentine to a romantic dinner at one of the most unusual and romantic settings on Long Island, the elegant, early twentieth-century mansion of William K. Vanderbilt II, overlooking Northport Harbor. The evening begins with hors d'oeuvres and wine in the Memorial Wing of the mansion. After a brief tour through the private living quarters, you will be seated for a leisurely dinner in the Northport Dining Room Porch. The menu choices will be Prime Rib, Seafood Scampi, Vegetable Lasagna and Chicken Francaise. Dessert will follow in the Lancaster Room, with a side trip to the Library and the Moroccan Court. After dinner, you'll attend a showing of Laser Beatles at 8:00 p.m. in the Vanderbilt Planetarium, then view the night sky through the Observatory's powerful telescope. As a bonus, you may have a Valentine's Day message projected onto the Planetarium dome amid the stars.
