USS Midway's 35th Anniversary of Operation Frequent Wind April 22, 2010

April 30, 2010 will mark the 35th anniversary of Operation Frequent Wind, the humanitarian mission when USS Midway sailors rescued more than 3,000 Vietnamese refugees fleeing the fall of Saigon.

The general public is invited to a special ceremony in commemoration of the historic event at 12 noon on the flight deck, featuring the 1975 captain of Midway, Larry Chambers, and the 1975 air boss of Midway, Vern Jumper, plus Vietnamese performances and entertainment.

Ceremony is free with paid admission to the USS Midway Museum.
