Many filmmakers and video artists put a lot of effort in creating work that only gets seen by a few. After one or two screenings the films get shelved never to be seen in public again. Enter the age of web video where low budget films have the potential to be seen by thousands if not millions.

But what happens when my film is out there? If I put my film on YouTube do I still own it? Can I generate income from my creations? How can I protect my creations?

In this workshop we will examine the "Terms of Use" agreements of popular sites such as YouTube, and I-Film, sites that profit share with creators such as Revver and MetaCafe, sites that offer free hosting of high quality video like Archive.org and OurMedia.org, and new technologies like video podcasts and internet tv..
