Urban Permaculture Design Course in SF June 22, 2011

June 22 - August 27, Wednesdays 6:30PM to 9:30PM and Saturdays 9:00AM to 5:00PM

Registration announced Summer 2011 session of the Urban PDC in San Francisco. Course begins on June 22nd.

Join us for an extended PDC which is built upon the traditional PDC taught globally. We add urban specific content that is both focused on San Francisco and can also be applied to any setting either urban, sub-urban or rural.

We offer both classroom and hands-on learning at several urban projects. Our teaching garden in Potrero Hill has undergone a soil-transformation by receiving an extremely deep sheet-mulch (up to 4 feet deep in some places) and compost teas. There are over 100 fruit and nut trees on just 5,000 square feet and this little garden is working to set the bar for dense SF gardens. We have many rare plants and you will have a chance to help with the plants as well as help build our natural building outdoor kitchen/classroom.

Every PDC has a group project and we have a great selection of projects to pick from or you can bring your own ideas. These projects all have real potential to be implemented and many of our student designs have gone on to be real projects. We teach you the real skills needed to design and get these projects going, once your done with the class, the finished design you made can be put into action.

The course begins on March 23rd and runs on Wednesday evenings 6:30pm-9:30pm and Saturdays all day from 9am-5pm. This schedule is designed to fit into a busy urban work/school schedule while still leaving some time for you life on the weekend.
