Urban design was the name that the Harvard Graduate School of Design selected for its 1956 conference. Discarding the word Civic marked a significant change in city design priorities.

“Urban Design or Civic Design” asked if it is too late to wonder about changing it. This exhibition is a meeting point for potential collaborators on future initiatives. Through the sharing of experience between professional groups, individuals, artists and activitist groups — We hope to envision an urban environment for vibrant public life and civic engagement.
