“Zollar’s Urban Bush Women possess a gorg eous movement quality, soft yet gr ounded, as if they are moving through clear, still water.”
— Washington Post

“Fantastic percussion from the ensemble sets the tone…The production shows the best of the tradition of West African dance and music…”
— NR C, Amsterdam

The seven remarkable women of Urban Bush Women and seven extraordinary men of Compagnie Jant-Bi from Senegal will perform The Beauty of Little Things—a collaborative work that has been created over the past three years by their artistic directors, Jawole Willa Jo Zollar and Germaine Acogny.

This highly anticipated new dance work will give audience members a unique lens through which to view the importance of landscapes and how we internalize them, speaking to the larger idea that “place” is a concept worthy of investigation.
