Welcome to University by the Sea, a new kind of festival in downtown Long Beach celebrating art, film and culture on Sunday, October 28 from 12 pm - 9 pm.

You can sign up for classes, uncover the historic Jergins Tunnel, or simply stroll down Pine Avenue to discover the sights, sounds and experiences of modern art, dance, music and film.

CLASSES

Sign up for classes to learn fascinating and fun tips and trends from CSULB professors, top industry leaders, chefs and artists. All classes are taught in awesome Pine Ave. restaurants with food samplings. Enjoy a spread from "The History of Prime Time TV" to "Sushi Making" and "Virtual Worlds" in King's Fish House, CasaVino, Smooth's Sports Grille and others.

JERGINS TUNNEL

Excavate the historic Jergins Tunnel, one of Long Beach's best-kept secrets. The Jergins Tunnel is an underground 1927 art deco tunnel running beneath Ocean Boulevard at Pine Avenue. It has been under lock and key, closed to the public - until now. We'll be showing home movies from the 1920's - 1960's as well as Buster Keaton films and a Bill Viola video.

FREE EVENTS

Enjoy a stroll along Pine Avenue for free music, martial arts and dance lessons, a free outdoor Hollywood Bowl-style film showcase, live arts, undwerwater robots, Long Beach Armada Fastball Camp, CSULB Kaleidoscope Exhibits and a Halloween trick or treat.

TRAVEL

Getting to downtown Long Beach is easy! Over 10 parking lots are within easy walking distance, and many validate for 2-4 hours. Free parking is available for U-Sea ticket-holders.

TICKETS

Tickets are required to access classes and the Jergins Tunnel. Ticket-holders enjoy special discounts including free parking, free food and drink, and access to the U-Sea After-Party. Visit universitybythesea.com for more information.
