Union City 50th Anniversary Fun Run September 13, 2009

It's called Union City's 50th Anniversary Fun Run, but runners, walkers and strollers of all ages are welcome to participate.

There are one-mile, five-kilometer and 10-kilometer courses and categories for men, women and children of various age groups. There will even be divisions for those with pets and strollers. The only category missing seems to be "Running with scissors!"

This family-friendly walk/run is intended to celebrate Union City's 50th Anniversary by promoting fitness and wellness. It will include a Fitness Fair with free massages, live entertainment guaranteed to get people on their feet, and healthy refreshments.

Runners who sign up by September 4 will get a Fun Run T-shirt. Registration forms are available at the Union City Sports Complex, any city community center, and online at www.UnionCity50.com and www.unioncity.org/leisure/ucls.htm

Check-in begins at 8 a.m.

$10-$35 depending on age and residency.
