The University of Miami School of Architecture’s Center for Urban & Community Design will host a symposium from January 25th to January 27th, 2007 to promote, educate and discuss innovative green building techniques and practices, relating the topic to the traditions of vernacular architecture and sustainable urbanism. The event will be held in collaboration with the University of Miami Law School’s Center for Ethics & Public Service and the U.S. Green Building Council - South Florida Chapter and the sponsorship of interested firms, exhibitors and agencies. Participants will include academics, professionals, government leaders and students from various areas of Florida in addition to speakers and vendors from around the region and nation.

The conference will serve as an opportunity for professionals to earn AIA continuing education credit, academics to share knowledge with various sustainable teachers and designers, vendors to expose sustainable products to practitioners, and possibly for students to earn certification through participation. The Symposium will serve as a forum for all interested in enhancing their knowledge and promoting green building practices.
