Unaltered, an evening with two renowned choreographers December 7, 2006

One of the most revered choreographers of the past three decades, Sara Shelton Mann, and one of the great emerging voices of this generation, Yannis Adoniou, join forces to present movement, Unaltered. Yannis Adoniou and his company Kunst-Stoff offer two new works, one set to avant-garde renegade Matt Ingalls’ score CrusT, and the other set to music by Russian Master Alfred Schnittke. Sara Shelton Mann joins the fray with her new work Te'lios/Teli'os about the passing of perfection and the struggle to tell the difference between achievement and value, driven by cutting edge music from Calvin LL Jones. Mann has cast Adoniou and Bay Area super-star Kathleen Hermesdorf in her piece. The focus of the evening is on pure movement, where the choreographers move away from the history each has in multimedia work. Even in a world of layered media and theatrical distraction this show proves the mover and the movement are still the soul of the art.
