Christening 2007 with a powerful live vocal performance by legendary dance diva Ultra Nate.
Ultra is still making music and shaping this scene as a philanthropist, business woman, DJ, club owner, record label owner and producer, so come down to the Melting Pot and help us give Ultra a warm New York welcome! The performance will begin promptly at 11pm. Lovely and talented dancers Maija Garcia, Dawn Robinson and Shayla-Vie Jenkins challenge the audience to "Capture This", (speaking to the impossibility of capturing movement), the result is an afro-latin-punk dance performance by OrganicMagnetics. Residents DJ Kervyn Mark and DJ Kamala will be spinning all sorts of Deep Soulful House, Classics and Global Beats. Eye-popping visual installations by Love Intelligence Group always inspire a spiritual connection to the music and the movement. Open mic session encourages all to step up and bring their flava to the music. Open bar from 9pm-10pm. Cake cutting celebration for the birthdays of Melting Pot members DJ Kervyn Mark, Rochelle "Rocky" Scott and Barbara Stamatelatos as well as all Capricorns. Stroll through the beautiful Loft Space and check out the Art Work. Come as you are and be part of the vibe! Dancers bring the baby powder to bless the floor!
