TurtleFest 2009 Bigger and Better and Still FREE

Fabulons, Sweet Justice Headline Seventh Annual Event

Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) will present their signature event TurtleFest 2009, on Saturday, April 25 from 10 am – 7 pm at Loggerhead Park in Juno Beach.
This FREE family friendly ocean-front event includes entertainment on two stages, featuring the Fabulons, Sweet Justice, Valcano, students from Paul Green’s School of Rock Music and more.
Additional activities include education presentations, sea turtle viewing, and an expanded Little Loggerhead Children’s Area with interactive games including a bounce house, dunk tank, arts and crafts, an expanded Food Oasis with tropical libations, marine-themed art and souvenirs and numerous local vendors.
“The event has grown from a small free community event to a major festival in the North County attracting nearly 20,000 families and supporters.” said Nanette Lawrenson, LMC Executive Director.
Free parking and shuttle is available at FPL, just south of Donald Ross Road on US Highway One and Universe drive. Follow the signs.

TurtleFest Entertainment Schedule:
11:30 am Paul Green's School of Rock Music Youth Band (local youth rockers)
12:45 pm Ma Muse (female acoustic folk band)
1:45 pm Valcano (Jupiter based female lead classic rock band)
3:00 pm String Theory (two acoustical guitarists playing your favorite tunes from the 70's)
4:00 pm Sweet Justice (cutting edge reggae)
5:50 pm The Fabulons ( Florida 's favorite party band)

Admission to TurtleFest is free, with a $5 special children’s activity fee for unlimited fun and games. Sponsored in part by The Healey Family, Anchor Bank, BB& T Insurance, FPL, Solid Waste Authority, Kool 105.5 FM, Loggerhead Club and Marina, Captain Morgan, the Palm Beach County Cultural Council, the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners and The Palm Beach Post.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a nonprofit organization committed to the conservation of marine life through public education, research, and rehabilitation with a focus on threatened and endangered sea turtles. In addition to providing educational programs, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center operates a sea turtle rehabilitation program, and features aquariums and other marine exhibits and is located at 14200 US Highway One in Juno Beach .
