Tropfest Short Film Festival 2008 February 16, 2008

Welcome to Sony Tropfest 2008! The world's largest short film festival celebrates its 16th year with the lucky number ‘8’! We once again ask filmmakers of all backgrounds and levels of experience to get out there and start shooting a short film for the festival. The films can be about anything but must include the annual Tropfest Signature Item (TSI), which this year is ‘8’.

Over 150,000 people will come together on Sunday 17th February 2008 to view 16 finalist films, selected from more than 700 entries at venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra and Hobart as well as a selection of regional venues across Australia.

Come along to the Domain Sunday 17th February and experience the best in Australian short filmmaking talent.

12:00pm: Trop Jr site opens (Visit www.tropjr.com for more details)
03:00pm: Entertainment commences including DJs, MCs, live bands and other onsite activities.
05:00pm: National satellite link goes live.
07:45pm: Sony Tropfest finalist films Part 1 commences
08:50pm: Interval
09:20pm: Sony Tropfest finalist films Part 2 commences
10:10pm: Judging time-out
10:30pm: Awards ceremony

The evening will finish at approximately 11pm.

Admission is free!

Food and beverages will be available to purchase from a selection of vendors on the day. Glass bottles are to be deposited in the recycling bins located throughout the Domain.

The festival receives a M15+ classification from the Office of Film and Literature Classification. Some of the films may contain course language, violence or sexual references. It is recommended for mature audiences of 15 years and over.
