After 3 critically acclaimed albums on GO! DISCS spanning the years between 1990 and 1996, the Trash Can Sinatras, thought by many to be the nearest thing Britain has produced to The Smiths since The Smiths, imploded. They've now returned and have self-financed the recording of a new album WEIGHTLIFTING, now being mixed by Andy Chase in New York City. The new songs are outstanding, from John's story of murder in a country lane, "Trouble Sleeping," through Paul's rather poignant and moving"What Women Do To Men," to the uplifting title track. These are pop songs, memorable tunes with words that mean something.
